Mike Armstrong CPDT-KA
Certified Professional Dog Trainer
Mike is passionate about helping dogs, from fostering rescue dogs to volunteering at shelters and rescues, and of course working with his clients. His approach to training is modern, reward-based and balanced. He rehabilitates and trains dogs by working not only with the dog, but most importantly with YOU, the owner. Mike can help you achieve a happy, healthy and balanced life with your dog!
Mike began working with dogs at age 10 as an apprentice to his grandfather Preston, a trainer who specialized in hunting and field trial dog training. In 2007 Mike began training professionally on a part-time basis, and in 2018 retired from his career in Information Technology to bring his dream of dog training as a second career to life.
Mike is a certified trainer and has studied under some world-renowned trainers such as Michael Ellis and Tyler Muto. Mike is dedicated to continuing his education through various seminars and coursework throughout the year.
When he’s not training other dogs, you’ll find Mike with his lovable rescue pups, Annie and Aggie. Both help Mike with training classes, and Annie is known as “the circus clown”, as she’ll enthusiastically perform tricks for anyone!
Mike and his wife Rena are proud longtime residents of York, Maine and enjoy spending time at the beach, hiking, kayaking, playing tennis, and just hanging out with Annie and Aggie.
