OUR APPROACH

We use relationship-based training that focuses on communication, not control.

That means:

• clear expectations for your dog

• motivating your dog to enjoy training
• practical skills for everyday life
• training that makes sense for owners

We don't use:
• dominance-based methods

• force or fear

• "quick-fix" solutions that don't last

RESULTS-FOCUSED

We work with dogs and owners who need real-life results.

This includes:

• teaching owners how to clearly communicate with their dogs

• puppies learning structure & impulse control
• struggles on leash - manners & reactivity

• mastering recall & off-leash training
• measuring progress along the way

Owners who want guidance without judgement.

WHAT YOUR FIRST SESSION LOOKS LIKE

Your first session is about clarity and direction.

We will:

• get to know your dog
• identify your biggest challenges
• begin foundational training
• give you clear next steps

You don't need to have it all figured out — that's what we're here for!

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE:

Training isn’t about perfection.
It’s about a dog that is easier to live with.

• Calmer behavior at home
• Better walks
• Clear communication
• More confidence for both of you

MEET MIKE

Mike is the owner and lead trainer at Woof Works.  He is a certified trainer (CPDT-KA) specializing in obedience, leash and reactivity training, puppy development, and behavior modification.  Mike’s passion for dogs began early, apprenticing under his grandfather (also a trainer) at age 10 and later working with rescues, shelters, and clients of his own. His training approach is modern, reward-based, and balanced, focusing not just on the dog, but on guiding owners to build clear communication and lasting results.  After nearly 30 years of training dogs as a side-gig, Mike transitioned from a career in Information Technology in 2007 to fully pursue his work with dogs and start Woof Works. Today, Mike continues his education and professional development with top industry leaders.  He is truly dedicated to helping dogs and their owners build a happy, healthy, and balanced life together.

MEET RACHEL

Rachel’s passion for dogs led her from working in daycare and boarding to becoming a client at Woof Works, where she dedicated herself to rehabilitating her reactive dog, Paisley. Her commitment and ability to connect with dogs quickly stood out throughout that process. Her skill led to an offer from Woof Works to become a trainer.  Today, she’s a Senior Trainer on our team, bringing that skill, empathy, and real-world experience to every dog she works with. Her journey from client to coach gives her a unique perspective that resonates deeply with the dogs and owners she supports.
